Employee Spotlight: Jeff White, Software Engineer

Here at IP Commerce, we believe a company is only as good as the employees who build it. We’re proud to have an incredibly talented team and we’d love for you to get to know some of our employees a little better.

Meet Jeff White, Software Engineer at IP Commerce.

What do you do at IP Commerce?

I’m a developer on three main aspects within our core product (Commerce  Sync) – the API, our Clover app and the website that handles our activation process. I also implement new features on our Commerce Boarding product as needed.

For those who are curious or might not know, an API (application programmer interface) is software that connects two separate pieces of software so they are able to talk to each other.

What’s your funniest work memory?

In order to convince everyone that Donnie Wahlberg (of New Kids on the Block fame) was at a company outing, I approached him for a picture. It was not Donnie.

What is your favorite thing about working here?

I love the people that I work with, as well as the opportunity to work on such an incredible product. Being on the forefront of something that people are consuming every day is exciting and really fuels the entire team to continually improve our product.

Tell us something unique about yourself.

I am afraid of ketchup. Seriously.

What’s your favorite Denver neighborhood?

The Highlands is my favorite part of town. My wife and I used to live there and really enjoyed all the restaurants and activities that make the neighborhood unique.

Which mobile app do you use the most?

I probably use a combination of Twitter, Yahoo Sports and Rdio. Oh! Also, Sprout and LifeCake – a couple of great apps if you’ve recently had a little one.

What would you sing at karaoke night?

The timing would have to be right, but the mood might strike if Don’t Stop Believing by Journey started playing.

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever been on?

My wife and I went to England for our honeymoon, which was amazing. I would have to say my favorite part of that trip was the Warner Brothers Harry Potter studio tour. We were a couple of beaming Muggles that day and we even got to try genuine ButterBeer!
